8 Natural Ways to Say Goodbye To Blackheads And Whiteheads

Having a blemish-free face is a real hard work. Our skin is constantly exposed to pollutants that cause the skin to break out. Aside from pimples tormenting your face, another common problem is blackheads and whiteheads. But how do you distinguish the two?

Whiteheads are medically known as closed comedones. They are hard and white (or yellow) bumps that formed when dead skin and sebum block the follicles. White heads are commonly seen on the nose and chin. Blackheads, on the other hand, come with larger openings and are black in color which resulted from melanin oxidation. Both are considered as a form of acne that often appears on the nose and chin.

So how do you treat blackheads and whiteheads? We have a couple of things that can help get rid of them and achieve clear and beautiful skin free of blackheads and whiteheads.


1. Facial Steaming


No need to go to a spa treatment when you can do it at home. The steam will help open the pores and soften the blackheads and whiteheads. Before any treatment, it is advised to do facial steaming so it’s easier to remove bacteria and dirt as well as blackheads and whiteheads.


Boil water and pour it into a large clean basin.

Put a large towel over your head and place your face over the bowl for 5-10 minutes. Let the steam do its magic.

Pat dry with a clean towel afterward.

Upon seeing the blackheads and white heads soften, you can gently push them out but don’t squeeze or press hard.

Repeat this once a week

If steaming is not possible, soak a towel in warm water, wring it and place it over your face for a few minutes. It’ll have a similar effect to steaming.
