1. Construction causalities
During the 26-month construction of the ship, two deaths and 246 injuries were recorded.
2. Coal ashes to the sea
Around 600 tons of coals were hand shoveled by 176 men and burned every 24 hours. Over 100 tons of ashes were discarded into the sea every day.
