Yes, this acute viral infection has no cure. It affect the upper respiratory tract that sometimes spread to the lower part. Common colds is usually described as the feeling of chilliness once exposed to a cold environment. It may cause a secondary infection in the middle ears or in the eye. There is more than a hundred agent that causes common colds, however, rhinoviruses are the frequent cause. People can carry the virus and spread it without having to experience any of the symptoms.
Over-the-counter medicine (alongside advice on staying in bed and drinking plenty of water) relieves the symptoms of common colds but it doesn’t cure the disease.
